All staff are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked and have current first aid qualifications. They continue to train in different areas of the curriculum to support the children at preschool.
Karen Ellis
Preschool Manager
I started work in Early Years in 2003 and have been a preschool manager since 2010. I moved to Norfolk from Kent 14 years ago with my two, now grown-up children. I love Early Years - it is my passion, no two days are the same and there is never a dull moment. I enjoy making sure preschool is a fun and exciting place where children can achieve, learn, are free to express themselves and supporting them to become secure, confident, independent little people.

Preschool Deputy
I have worked at Freethorpe for a number of years. It's great fun, the little ones tell things just as they are and even more amazing to watch the children learn and their own little characters develop.
I live with my husband and two cocker spaniels Romer and Bosco, who rule our house! We enjoy going out for walkies especially to the beach. I love afternoon tea and I am an avid motorsport fan, especially F1.

Preschool Practitioner
I split my time working part time in the preschool and part time supporting adults with learning difficulties in their own home. I have worked in the preschool for around 10yrs. I love to help and to support, watching the people I look after become the very best they can be.
I have 5 children, who albeit are now grown, still live at home and so much of my 'spare' time is taken up keeping the house running. Apart from that, I enjoy cooking, listening to books on Alexa and meeting up with good friends!

Preschool Practitioner
I have worked within the school since 2004 and have lived in the community and surrounding villages all my life. I have two grown up daughters who came to the Freethorpe preschool and then the school. I enjoy working in the preschool, I feel privileged to watch these little individuals grow into primary school children and beyond. It is lovely to watch them forming friendships and to share special moments with them.

Preschool Practitioner
I have been working at preschool since 2009, after my three boys started primary school. This was a refreshing change from my previous work life of recruitment! Working in preschool is so rewarding, building relationships with the children, playing a part in seeing them grow and develop ready for school.

Preschool Practitioner
I have worked at Freethorpe for a number of years within preschool, as a midday supervisor and previously managing the ‘Stay & Play’ group in the school. I enjoy seeing the children laughing and enjoying the activities we have planned for them.
I have four grown up children of my own and a grandson, whom I love spending time with.
Jade Castro
Preschool Practitioner
I have worked at Freethorpe Primary School as a teaching assistant since 2015. Within the last school year I have started working within the preschool. My favourite part of working alongside the children is when we are making crafts, playing outside and reading stories, especially ‘Room on the Broom’. In my home life I am teaching myself the ukulele and cross stitch. I enjoy visiting stately homes and castles all across the country. Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, being my favourite.
